Frequently Asked Questions

How is the care paid for and what is the cost?

Serenity charges a basic monthly fee for semi-private and private rooms. There is also an additional level of care assessment charged for patients diagnosed with dementia. Serenity provides options for patients requiring assistance with feeding, and two aids for transferring. While Medicare and Medicaid do not cover long-term stays at Serenity, private pay, long-term care insurance, and the Veteran’s Affairs pay the partial or potentially the full cost for Veterans. Spouses of Veterans are eligible to receive partial assistance.

What professionals are on staff, and what are their qualifications?

Our staff consists of a registered nurse (“RN”), licensed vocational nurses (“LVN”), and medication aids, as well as well-trained and certified nurse aides and home attendants. Home health and hospice nurses are also on call 24-hours a day, seven days a week.

Why type of care does Serenity provide?

Serenity provides 24-hour personal care for residents and assistance with their activities of daily living (grooming, bathing, and feeding with nursing assistance). In addition to our specialized and personal care practices, we administer and plan our residents’ medication, and also record patient vital signs.

Is Serenity well-designed for resident needs?

Yes. Our facility is designed to meet all of our residents’ needs. Sprinkler systems are installed throughout each room, as well as a 24-hour monitored alarmed service, smoke detectors, heat detectors, and generators. Safety is our first priority.
